Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to Kaziranga Lodge?
The nearest airport is Jorhat Airport (JRH), approximately 97 km from the lodge. We provide complimentary transfers for all confirmed reservations. Alternatively, Guwahati Airport (GAU) is approximately 250 km away, and we can arrange private transfers upon request. The lodge is also accessible by road from Guwahati via NH-37.
What is included in my stay?
Every stay includes luxury accommodation, three daily meals featuring Assamese and international cuisine, a welcome ritual and naturalist briefing, complimentary airport transfers from Jorhat, daily guided nature walks, and access to the lodge's wellness facilities. Safari excursions and spa treatments can be added to your itinerary.
What should I pack?
We recommend neutral-toned, lightweight clothing for safaris, sturdy walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and binoculars. The lodge provides rain ponchos and gumboots during the monsoon season. Evenings can be cool from November to February, so a light jacket is advised.
Is it safe for children?
Absolutely. We welcome families and offer tailored experiences for younger guests, including junior naturalist programmes, guided nature trails, and age-appropriate safari excursions. Children under 5 are not permitted on elephant-back safaris for safety reasons, but jeep safaris are suitable for all ages.
What is your cancellation policy?
Reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days prior to the check-in date. Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before arrival incur a 50% charge. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival or no-shows are charged the full reservation amount. We recommend travel insurance for all bookings.
When is the best time to visit?
Kaziranga National Park is open from November to April. The cooler months of November through February offer the best wildlife sighting conditions, with clear skies and shorter grass. March and April are warmer but excellent for birdwatching as migratory species are still present. The park closes during the monsoon season (May to October) due to flooding.
