Estate-to-table cuisine celebrating the terroir of the Nilgiris

Farm, Forest & Fire

A Culinary Philosophy

At Verdanta, our kitchens are an extension of the land. Chef Meera Krishnan works with a five-mile pantry — vegetables from our kitchen garden, herbs foraged from the estate, spices from nearby farms, and dairy from the Toda pastoral community. Every dish tells a story of place and season.

The Conservatory restaurant with floor-to-ceiling glass and garden views

Restaurant

The Conservatory

Our signature restaurant is housed in a restored Victorian glass conservatory overlooking the valley. The menu shifts with the seasons — from wild mushroom risotto with Nilgiri black truffle in the monsoon, to slow-braised Coonoor lamb with curry leaf gremolata in winter. Each dish is paired with wines from our curated South Indian and international cellar.

Artisan cocktails crafted with local botanicals at The Mist Bar

Bar & Lounge

The Mist Bar

An intimate lounge where the Nilgiri botanicals meet the cocktail shaker. Our resident mixologist crafts drinks using estate-grown lemongrass, wild pepper, Nilgiri tea-infused spirits, and local honey. The terrace is the perfect perch for watching the evening mist roll in while sipping a Cardamom Old Fashioned.

Open: 11:00 AM — 11:00 PM · No reservations needed

All-Day Dining

The Verandah

The heart of daily life at Verdanta. Breakfast begins with freshly baked bread from our wood-fired oven, single-origin Nilgiri pour-over, and a spread of South Indian specialities — crispy dosa, steaming appam with stew, and hand-ground chutneys. Lunch and afternoon tea continue the celebration of local flavours in a relaxed, open-air setting.

Breakfast: 7:00 AM — 10:30 AM · Lunch: 12:30 PM — 3:00 PM · Tea: 4:00 PM — 5:30 PM

"We can arrange a private dinner under the stars in the tea garden, a sunrise breakfast at Dolphin's Nose, or a seven-course tasting journey in the Wine Cellar."
