The Nilgiri Spa

Ancient healing traditions, estate-foraged botanicals, mountain air

Wellness

Healing from the Hills

The Nilgiri Spa draws from two of India's most ancient healing systems — Siddha medicine, native to Tamil Nadu, and Ayurveda. Our therapists, trained by practitioners from the surrounding villages, use only ingredients foraged from the estate and nearby forests: eucalyptus, wild turmeric, camphor, lemongrass, and native herbs whose names exist only in the Toda language.

Facilities

The Spa & Pool

Four treatment rooms, each with floor-to-ceiling views of the valley. A steam room infused with estate eucalyptus. An outdoor relaxation deck with heated loungers and herbal tea service. Our heated infinity-edge pool, which appears to merge with the valley 2,000 feet below, is open from sunrise to sunset.

Yoga & Meditation

Daily sunrise yoga sessions are held on our open-air pavilion, where the only sounds are birdsong and rustling tea leaves. Our instructor offers both Hatha and Vinyasa flows, adapted to the altitude and the mood of the morning. Guided meditation sessions are available on request, as are private pranayama classes designed to help you make the most of the pure mountain air.

All wellness activities are complimentary for in-house guests.
